Outline

JBEC is a non-profit public corporation (general incorporated foundation) which was established to contribute to growth of the Japanese economy and improvement of the lives of people by conducting research studies and disseminating knowledge on technologies, economics, the environment, and other issues related to bridges, and realizing smooth development of bridge projects.

Based on technologies for the planning, design, construction and management of bridges accumulated over many years, JBEC is engaged in a number of businesses from a fair and neutral standpoint, without favoring any specific benefit. Its businesses include :

  1. Bridge Inspection and Evaluation
  2. Study on Bridge Rehabilitation and Strengthening
  3. Study on Design and Construction Methods for Long-Span Bridges
  4. Engineering Support for Bridge Owners
  5. Study on Technical Standards, Research and Development.
